To express myself and show my perspective as a man
from where I’m from and because of the response
of the people and the feeling I get when I share and
expose my music to them.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2

You're within the final minutes of the episode, Führer Bradley, and the Ice Alchemist is charging at you. What do you do? Stand there with your badass frown as he approaches you, then nonchalantly slash him faster than the blink of an eye? Excellent choice.

Fall 2008 Anime
Okay, it's premiere time! A lot of what's coming up this season has caught my eye, so I'll be updating this post as I watch. Note that these are first episode reviews, meaning my opinion is all but set on each of these.
Rosario + Vampire Capu2: I never really liked this series to begin with, but vampire Moka was motivation enough to get me through the first season. It seems nothing has changed (aside from a new character). I'm expecting nothing more than panty shots galore, answers to the questions from the first season, and that guy who deems it necessary to explain the rosary removal in every episode.
Clannad - After Story: Though the first season ended rather abruptly for me, I really liked it. The first episode of this new season brings absolutely nothing new to the table, and that's why I loved it. Stay as you are, Clannad.
I guess Yoshino being fucking hilarious didn't hurt either.
Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka: The premise is pretty interesting, and the first episode was pretty funny. I'll stay tuned.
Toradora!: Not my cup of tea, but I did get more than a few laughs out of this one. I might just wait for a batch for this one.
Toaru Majutsu no Index: This anime has a wacky side to it, and I likes it.
ef - A Tale of Melodies: Still as overly artsy as ever, but that's part of why I loved the first season. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
Kyou no Go no Ni: Minami-ke and Lucky Star had a baby, and its name is Kyou no Go no Ni. If you're looking for pure comedic value this season, this is the anime for you (though the air guitar bit in the first episode kind of sucked).

It's him again...
Hey! Old news, but here's my baby basking in a ray of sunlight!

As with most of my most treasured pieces of technology, I'm going to try and personalize the look of the hardware (paint, maybe some cool backlights, and prosound are the first to come to mind).
Oh, and a neatly stenciled Flash Gordon logo in the back. All of this will come after I get my replacement battery cover and screen.

Macross Zero
From Wikipedia:Plain and simple, this OVA is a gem.
Macross Zero is set one year before the events of the original Macross series, depicting the final battles of the global unification war between the UN Spacy and the Anti-UN forces set in the South Pacific. Amidst the violence, a UN F-14 Tomcat navy pilot named Shin Kudo is attacked by a strange enemy aircraft that can transform into a robot/battroid. Crash landing on Mayan Island he learns that this remote island and its peaceful native inhabitants hold a great secret linking them to the alien space ship and would become the focus of the war, whether they like it or not. Shin then returns to his carrier fleet and joins Skull Squadron, who also operate brand new, transforming fighters, the type Zero Valkyrie. He trains and engages Anti-UN forces operating from converted ballsitic missile submarines as both sides fight to locate and control two alien artifacts, with the peaceful, agrarian Mayan caught in the middle.
The animation: Incredible. The 2d and 3d blend together seamlessly from start to finish.
The sound: Superb, from the characters' voices to the ambience in each and every jungle scene.
The music: Always meaningful and spot-on when matched against the mood of any given scene.
The characters: Your usual diverse bunch. The difference between these characters and those of the average anime is that the less important beings here all feel relevant and don't prolong/drag the story any longer than they have to (not that I would've minded. They're every bit as interesting as some of the main characters).
The story: Engaging throughout, and none of it felt rushed. Even the playful scenes held my interest.
Oh, and another thing: watch THORA's release. I cannot stress this enough. The video quality is pro. The subs are pro. The audio is pro. The fact that they only do 720p and up is pro. This shit is pro. Get it now!!!
(There are also a number of XDCC bots for your downloading pleasure, but I already gave you the link to the site, so go find them yourself, geez!)
